Express Newsreader Setup instructions. There are a variety
of newsreaders available if you are unable to use the link above or the
instructions below.
Outlook Express Newsreader Setup
- Launch Outlook Express.
Windows Users: If you haven't installed Outlook Express yet, you can download
it from the Internet
Explorer Downloads page. (Internet Explorer 5.5 or later includes Outlook
Express.)
Macintosh Users: You have two options; download Outlook Express 5.0.6 for Mac
OS 8.1 to 9.x or download and install Outlook 2001 which includes Outlook
Express and works on Mac
OS 8.6 to Mac OS X 10.2.x.
- Choose Tools» Accounts.
- In the Internet Account dialog, click the Add button,
and then choose News.
- In the Internet Connection Wizard that appears, type your full name in
the Display name field, and then click Next.
Note
Please
be sure to use your full name so that we can assist you better. If you
use an alias, you may be asked to identify yourself before recieving
support.
- Type your E-mail address in the E-mail address field,
and then click Next.
- Type support.dwfaq.com/support in the News (NNTP) Server
field.
Note
You may leave the checkbox empty.
- Click Next. Click Finish.
- You will return to the Internet Connection Wizard where you may now click Close.
- You will be asked, "Would you like to download newsgroups from the news
server you added?" Click Yes.
- In the Newsgroup Subscriptions dialog box, click the newsgroup in the Accounts
section on the left. (support.dwfaq.com).
- The All tab should be selected, where you'll see a list of DWfaq newsgroups.
Click on support and then click Subscribe.
- Clik OK and you're all set. You may now proceed to the
newsgroup by expanding the support.dwfaq.com listing (on the left of the
Outlook Express window just below your Local Folders) and click on support.
