Some Things Old, Some Things New

Wedding bells aren't ringing, despite that heading. Just in case it's been awhile since you've visited DreamweaverFAQ.com, some things listed here are somewhat "old news" and some things are new. We hope you find the info helpful.

In this edition:
The Snippets Exchange | MXinSite Magazine | A Bit of Fun
Site News Archives | Newest Tutorials | First UltraDev Tutorial
Search Engine Resources | Personal Thanks | Coming Soon!

The Snippets Exchange

If you haven't been there yet, you're missing out! Introduced in early November 2001, the Snippets Exchange has had well over 25,000 downloads with over 200 Snippets available. What are Snippets you ask? Simply put, Snippets are handy pieces of code which are kept for reuse in the Snippets Panel, developed by Massimo Foti.

MXinSite Magazine

Wouldn't it be great if there was a magazine dedicated to Macromedia Products? There is now! From Dreamweaver to Flash to Cold Fusion, MX inSite provides complete, high quality coverage of Macromedia products and their related technologies. Scheduled for a May 2002 debut, you may register for the premier issue. Subscribe early for a 42% savings.

A Bit of Fun

If you've ever visited the Dreamweaver Newsgroup, it gets mighty interesting when the subjects go OT (Off Topic). "Moose Pucky" has become a famous expression in the forum to show one's disagreement with another (search the Google Archives for "moose pucky"). This phrase has led to some heated arguments and now finally a website, MoosePucky.com, devoted to the wackiness that takes place there. Put together by and/or poking fun at some of DWfaq.com's tutorial authors including Murray, Colm, Corey, and JoJo, MoosePucky.com is sure to make you laugh. That's no baloney!

Site News Archives

Are you a news junkie? Can't get enough news? Now you can look further than our home page and into our brand new searchable Site News Archive. Now that DWfaq.com will be bringing you more news more often, we wanted to make sure you don't miss anything. Of course we hope you visit us often enough that you don't miss any of the news on the home page... but in the event you have a vacation or some other acceptable reason, the archives are there for you if you need them.

First UltraDev Tutorial at DWfaq.com

We realize that some of you may be making the migration to UltraDev, and after all, UltraDev is Dreamweaver too right? A special request for a tutorial was made on the Tutorials Support Forum recently which Bryan Ashcraft volunteered to write. This is the first of hopefully many beginner level UltraDev tutorials for DWfaq.com.

Search Engine Resources

The Search Engine Resources section has always been filled with great links to helpful information. Something was missing, but not anymore...

It sure would be nice if there was a site that offered a listing of Search Engine Submission URLs. Wait, we do that! Thanks to "turtle" for volunteering to maintain such a great resource.

Personal Thanks

Hello Everyone!

I would just like to take this time to say some public words of thanks to all the people who helped DreamweaverFAQ.com in 2001. (Ok, I know it is April already, but this is the first Newsletter this year.) The site has gained such a loyal following and userbase that I never imagined. When I started the endeavor of creating this site, I really had no idea how well received it would be and how quickly the site would grow. I also had no idea how that growth would mean so much time involved for me!

Developing this site has been a great learning experience for me and allowed me the chance to work with some of the best in the business. Daniel Short has worked tirelessly this past year to provide dynamic functionality to the site and I have learned so much from him. Without Daniel there would not be the Style Changer, the Font Size Changer, or the incredible Snippets Exchange. Huge thanks to Dan! Special thanks to all the Tutorial Authors for their contributions. It has been a pleasure to work with all of them. 2002 will bring many new things to DreamweaverFAQ.com! You'll just have to wait and see...

Thank you so much for your continued support. Have a great (rest of this) year!
